Well, our good friend Lepke B often refered to them as Light Monkeys... there's a lot of types out there. But it's safe to say punkvert VJs were old skool - yes, they couldn't even spell it then, but they were happy and they were what's refered to as analogue.
After a lot of whining, bitching and moaning, they started using laptops and horror of horrors DVDs to complement their shows, but you cant beat a good old fashioned mixer really.
punkvert VJs like to be hands on and like using 16mm film to mess about with.
